Nick Fisher put forth another virtuoso performance as Pahoa once again turned its gym into a house of horrors for a team near the top of Division I.
Fisher continued his scoring surge with 25 points and the Daggers shut down Waiakea in the fourth quarter Tuesday night to rally for a 52-48 victory in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation boys basketball game.
Randin Napeahi added 10 points for Pahoa (5-4), which clinched the top seed in the East and a bye into the BIIF Division II semifinals. The Daggers came back after trailing by five entering the fourth quarter.
Junior Dillon Rellez scored 16 points and junior Lucas St. George added 15 for the Warriors (7-3), who suffered a costly setback. Waiakea fell out of first place in the East in Division I with its second loss in three games.
Pahoa has won four of five, largely on the back of Fisher, who’s averaging 20.9 points per game on the season. The senior guard reached the 20-point mark for the sixth time this year. On Jan. 15 at Pahoa, Fisher scored 21 points as the Daggers surprised Kamehameha. He amassed 74 points in his last three games — all against Division competition.
Waiakea won the JV game 43-27. Jayston Prudencio and Marc Ferreira each scored eight points for the Warriors.

Keaau 65, Kamehameha 62: Senior Davin Alviento scored a game-high 27 points as the Cougars went on the road to earn their biggest win of the season.
Senior Sean Stone added 17 points as Keaau (5-4) denied Kamehameha a chance to move into a tie for first place in Division I.
Instead, the Warriors (6-3) fell into third, though they still control their own destiny in the postseason race. Senior guard Shaun Kagawa scored 16 points, freshman Pukana Vincent and junior La’a Manliguis added 12 each and senior Ilikai Calip had 11.

Hilo 60, Ka’u 55: Senior Jacob Genegabuas scored 20 points as the Vikings held off the upset in Pahala to take sole possession of first place in the East in Division I.
Greg Javar scored 16 points for the Trojans (2-8). Ka’u trailed by as many as 15 points in the third quarter before rallying to within a point with 1:30 left to play.
Hilo (7-2) hosts St. Joseph and Keaau at home in its next to games before going on the road to face Kamehameha in its regular-season finale on Feb. 9.
EJ Narido scored 24 points in the Vikings’ 78-73 JV victory. Jordan Caoagdan chipped in with 15, Dane Foster added 14 and Trevor Castro had 11. Chance Emmsley Ah Yee had 14 for the Trojans.

Kealakehe 46, Honokaa 44: Deion Utrera scored 10 points, and Kalani Lewi added nine at Honokaa Armory for the Waveriders (3-6).
Isaiah Meyer scored a game-high 17 points for the Dragons (4-4), and Keanu Freitas added nine.
In the JV game, Kealakehe beat Honokaa 54-49 behind 10 points from Blaine Broberg and eight from Arthur Freddy. Shyrome Batin led the Dragons with 22 points, and Jeremy Charbonneau added 14.
